Today I explored the new and improved Siam Discovery which when I was in Bangkok last, was closed for renovations.
The centre is organised by types of lifestyles or rather ‘lab’ types.
Didn’t manage to roam Level 5 the Retail Innovation Lab but could see that there’s a Virgin Active, Tussauds and a start-up retain innovation lab.
I started on Level 4 the Play Lab. The floor is perfect if you’re after a new bike, to browse a great range of books or want a bite to eat. Would recommend the Brix Dessert Bar for all those sweet tooths out there.
There’s a lovely atrium that leads you from Level 4 to 3 with variously types of seating. The third floor is the Creative Lab which was my personal favourite floor. Could honestly spend hours there! Everything from furniture to arts and crafts.
There’s also a lovely coffee shop called I + d Style Café by Brave Roasters if you’re in need of a pit stop.
I discovered so many cool brands and concepts that I had never heard of before including the Pinn Creative Space which is a workplace for up and coming designers. The space is designed to provoke creativity with all the essential cutting-edge tools to inspire and create new designs. The space also encourages collaborative learning and networking with fellow designers.
Onto Level 2 the Digital Lab, this floor is perfect for electronics (especially cameras), gadgets and a wide range of stationary which can be found at Loft.
It is also one of the few places I’ve found a wide range of coffee brewing equipment and accessories as well as a number of independent coffee bean brands including; La Liart, Jon Thong, Espressoman and Alto. Just an FYI for coffee lovers!
Down to Level 1 the Street Lab where you can find an array of jeans and streetwear brands as well as shoes, sunglasses and watches.
Then down to the Mezzanine (M) to find His Lab. I love how the clothes and accessories are displayed in such fun and original way.
And you guessed it, the Ground Floor (G) is where you’ll find Her Lab. You’ll find local brands such as Fly Now White Label to international brands such as Issey Miyake to Jo Malone.
If you haven’t been to the revamped Siam Discovery yet or you’re in town, check it out, you won’t disappointed.
